Delete your SoapBox Republic account

You can delete your account and the data linked to it at any time. It is free, and you don't need the app installed. This also deletes the data that came from Google, Apple, or Facebook sign-in.

Option 1 (the main way): In the app

  1. Open SoapBox Republic and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Delete account.
  3. Read the notice and tap Delete my account. Deletion is immediate, it can't be undone, and you are signed out.

Option 2 (backup): Without the app, by email

  1. Email support@soapboxrepublic.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account." Use this if you can't use the app, for example because you uninstalled it or lost your phone.
  2. We verify it is really you. Email sender addresses can be faked, so we reply to the email address on your account and ask you to confirm. We delete only after you confirm from that address. We never ask for a password, ID document, or payment details. If someone writes from a different address, we send the confirmation to the account's email address instead, and we do nothing unless it is confirmed from there.
  3. Turnaround. We reply within 1–3 business days. After you confirm, we delete the account within 3 business days, the same way the app does, and we email you when it's done. The rest of this page (what is deleted, what is kept, and for how long) applies the same way.
  4. If you no longer have access to your account email, tell us. We will open a support case. We won't delete an account without proof that it's yours, such as signing in again, or confirming details only the account holder would know. We never ask for a password or ID document.

If you signed up with Sign in with Apple and hid your email, or skipped sharing it, write from the email address you use with that provider, and say which sign-in you used. We will open a support case to verify the account before deleting it.

Posts and approved polls can be read publicly, so copies may exist that we don't control: screenshots, text people copied, quoted, or reshared elsewhere, and pages saved by search engines or web archives. If someone quoted your post in their own SoapBox Republic post, you can report it, or email us, and we will review it under our rules.
